The long-awaitedDual softwareFinally released!
In 2016, ASD company (now under Panaco in the Netherlands) launched a major productDual (FieldSpec dual channel data acquisition) software.

What conveniences does Dual software bring us?
Dual software, also known as FieldSpec dual channel data acquisition software, can simultaneously connect two ASD FieldSpec spectrometers to achieve synchronous measurement and collection of reference whiteboard and target object data. Field scientists can now confidently calibrate, validate sensors, and establish a field full spectrum database.
DualHow does software work?
In the Dual software setup, a FieldSpec serves as a fixed base unit (FBU) to continuously collect measurement data from the reference whiteboard. The other instrument serves as a mobile unit (MU) to freely collect spectral information without the need to measure the whiteboard. Two instruments achieve communication, internal calibration, and synchronous measurement through laptops and Dual software.

advantage:
(1) Extend data collection time: By simultaneously measuring the whiteboard and sample targets, Dual software can eliminate the need to wait and optimize weather conditions during measurement, allowing for more time for measurement;
(2) Collecting more accurate reflectance spectral data: By removing the subjectivity and reflection delay of the operator, Dual software can eliminate error sources and inconsistencies that occur under normal solar measurement conditions;
(3) Reduce manual whiteboard measurement: Compared to traditional single instrument measurement, using Dual software can reduce the time for periodic whiteboard measurement, lower measurement errors, and provide users with more time to directly measure target objects;
(4) Dual software is compatible with FieldSpec 3 and FieldSpec 4 product lines.
